Clinton National Bank Interesting Facts
*The day the Clinton Herald published the bank's Certificate of Authorization from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, was the same day the Herald released the story that President Abraham Lincoln had been assassinated.
*May 1, 1865, Clinton National Bank opened for business in a small building on the corner of 6th Avenue South and First Street.
*Just several years later, in August of 1868, more space was needed and the bank relocated to the Corner of 6th Avenue South and 2nd Steet.
*Substantial growth continued through the years. In December 1955, the bank moved to its present location at 235 6th Ave. S.
*In May 1968, the drive-up location across from the Main Bank opened for business.
*Clinton National's Main Bank unveiled the first ATM in the city, September of 1976.
