School Spirit Cards Q & A

Is this a completely new debit card or will my current number remain the same?   This will be the same information as your current card—nothing will change, except for the new design showcasing one of our participating local schools. It's just a fresh look to highlight the school you're supporting.

Does the percentage that goes to the district now take the place of Scorecard rewards?   No, the percentage allocated to the district does not replace Scorecard Rewards. You can still earn Scorecard Rewards as usual.

How difficult is it to get a spirit card?   Getting a Spirit Card is simple! As long as you have an existing personal checking account with Clinton National Bank, just call, send us a message with our ‘Chat with us’ feature on our website or visit one of our local branches to upgrade your card at no extra cost. We can print it right onsite at our Lincolnway, Main, and Preston locations. Easy as pie!

Do I need an account at Clinton National Bank to get a School Spirit Debit Card?   Yes, you’ll need a personal checking account with Clinton National Bank to get a School Spirit Debit Card. If you’d like to open a checking account, you can easily apply online at clintonnational.com or visit one of our conveniently located branches.

How often do the schools get their donations?   Each participating school district will receive their donated portion on a quarterly basis.

How does the donation part work? Do we have to pay any extra?   Every time you swipe your card to complete a transaction, a portion of the interchange income goes directly to the school you're supporting. There are no hidden fees or annual costs—just use your card for everyday purchases, and you're giving back!

Can I have multiple School Spirit debit cards for one checking account?   Yes, you can have multiple School Spirit debit cards for one personal checking account, but each account can only be assigned to one school. So, if you have a joint checking account with family members, each person can still get their own School Spirit card, but they'll all be supporting the same school since the account is tied to that one school.

How can I support multiple schools?   If you want to support multiple schools, you'll need to open a separate account for each one. Each personal checking account can only be linked to a single school.

Why don’t I see my school on the list?   This program is available only to participating local school districts. If your school isn't on the list, it may not be part of the program yet. We continue to contact additional schools in the area.

Does the Spirit Card work with Apple Pay?   Yes.  It will work with Apple Pay and Samsung Pay, the same as the old card.
